The Rubber Group Acquires Cooper Products Inc.

John StoneProducts and Services

We are pleased to announce that The Rubber Group has completed the acquisition of Cooper Products Inc. (Cooper Products) as of December 15, 2023. Cooper Products is a respected provider of molded rubber components and solutions in the industry based in Laconia, NH. This acquisition is a significant milestone in our journey to expand our capabilities and product offerings around engineered custom-molded rubber components.

Cooper Products has been an industry leader since 1984, known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and customer service. Their expertise in producing high-quality custom bearing seals, radial shaft seals, and precision molded rubber components is a perfect complement to our own capabilities at The Rubber Group. This acquisition will allow us to leverage our shared knowledge, technologies, and customer relationships to add additional value to our customers and the wider market.

This acquisition will bring new capabilities to The Rubber Group and will allow us to offer additional services to our current customer base.

  • Expanded phosphating and adhesive preparation equipment to enhance our industry-leading overmolding capabilities.
  • Additional 30,000 square feet in a separate facility designed for rubber molding. This extra space will allow us to continue our focus on you and the challenges you face. We hope to add additional services and offerings to continue as a valued supplier.
  • The addition of 28 compression presses to our current lineup of 28 molding machines. Beyond the additional capacity, these allow for enhanced risk mitigation. We now have two facilities of duplicate machine types in the unfortunate event of an incident in either location.
  • Additional technical resources have come with the acquisition in the form of 3 new engineers and support staff with decades of experience in rubber molding.
  • Metal stamping capabilities allow for increased flexibility and cost control on metal inserts. This is critical to supporting our role as a leading molder of rubber-to-metal bonded parts.
  • In-house tool shop and mold making capabilities are a welcome addition. Responsiveness and lead times for tooling related items will improve as we continue to invest and develop these aspects of our business.

We are excited about the future as we begin integrating Cooper Products into The Rubber Group family. We believe that our enhanced capabilities and increased scale will enable us to serve you better and meet your needs more effectively.

Should you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to our continued relationship and are excited to embark on this new chapter with you.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Sincerely,

Rob Pruyn
